Head to a bookshop to see for yourself
Locally to us in St Ives, our nearest bookshop is WHSmith in St Ives, on Crown Street right in the town centre. It's open until 5pm every day (4pm on Sundays) so you can pop in after school any day to have a look around for your next great read. They are ready and waiting to accept your World Book Day voucher.
Your voucher works in any bookshop
You can use your voucher in any bookshop. You can visit the wonderful award-winning Niche Comics and Books just up the road in Huntingdon, hiding away near the very end of the High Street opposite the Methodist Church. Their website has some great reading suggestions (check out the Reading For Pleasure KS2 list) and there is a superb range of audio books available on the website too. You can also visit The Works, WHSmith or Sainsburys in Huntingdon to use your voucher.
There's also a treasure trove of stories to discover over at the enormous Waterstones or Heffers bookshops in Cambridge.
Nothing beats a real bookshop, but...
When you walk into a bookshop, you never quite know where it may lead. Being able to see, feel and delve into books is an experience it is simply hard to get when you shop online.
The World Book Day book tokens are provided by and funded by booksellers to encourage you to visit and explore your local bookshop. However, if you are unfortunately unable to visit a bookshop this World Book Day, then your parents can visit the Books2Door World Book Day website to order a £1 book with your voucher and get FREE delivery, so it really will cost absolutely nothing at all.
Absolutely nothing is also the cost of joining and using the town library, where you will find they have hundreds of exciting new worlds waiting to be explored.
