Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Westfield

Westfield Junior School is committed to the provision of a rich and varied education which meets the needs of all pupils so enabling them to realise their full academic, personal and social potential.  The school recognises that all children have both individual talents and learning needs.  For some pupils these needs may be permanent, temporary or intermittent special educational needs.  A special educational need may relate to difficulties involving communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, sensory and/or physical needs or a combination of any of these. We believe that special needs are something that children may have, not something that they are.

Please follow this link to access a PDF document containing all information for parents/carers on what they can expect from our Special Education Provision, known  as our SEND Information Report.  It uses guidance from the new Code of Practice (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/send-code-of-practice-0-to-25) and further information can be found in our school SEND Policy.
